We've Got Cabin Fever

So much so, that Avery and Derrick are strangling each other. We are ready for some nice weather to get out of the house. I think the lack of sleep, sunshine, and human interaction is starting to make us all go a little loco.
Avery really is trying to strangle his dad here. A parenting intervention is needed.
Devin is the only one content with the inside warmth of the house.
We are getting desperately creative on activities for Avery. A tent in his room seems to satisfy for a short while.
Devin enjoys the swing which is a huge score for mommy to have some hands free time.

Our Two Little Valentines

Settling In

It was great to be home. We are so grateful for our parents. Mammaw and Papaw made several trips back and forth to and from Charleston over the course of 3 or 4 days keeping a watch over Avery and provided a ton of  delicious food. Mimi and Papa brought us some delicious food on Sunday that should keep us stocked for the next week. I hope my mother and mother-in-law plan lots of visits cause I will definitely be looking forward to them!

Coming Home

Mr. Devin Howard Pottmeyer Has Arrived!

Devin Howard Pottmeyer was born at 10:10am on 2/10/2011.
He weighed 7 lbs. and was 21 inches long.
It was awesome getting to see this little man for the first time. We were so thankful that he was healthy.
The whole experience was so easy in the hospital. My doctor was fantastic and we had some great nurses.

Getting Ready For the BIG DAY

Wednesday, 2/9, I went in for my 39 week appointment. My doctor talked me into being induced the next day. I had no intention of being induced, but he promised me that everything would go smoothly and that I would be glad that I did. So, we scrambled on Wednesday to prepare for a baby the next day. Mom and Dad came and got Avery for the night and we started packing our bags.
This was the night before going to the hospital. Avery was getting ready to go to mom and dad's for the night. I was a little teary eyed saying goodbye to Avery because I knew that life as we knew it would change forever.
This was at 3:30am on Thursday, 2/10/11. Derrick and I were getting ready to go to the hospital. We were leaving the house to be at the hospital at 4:00am. Derrick took this same picture of me (filling the water jug) the morning that I went into labor with Avery.
