4 Years

Well it's been 4 years and we're still going strong. We've added a wonderful addition to our family and life is great. Time sure flies when you are having fun.

Happy Father's Day Daddy!

Avery and mommy made daddy some banana pancakes for breakfast and then celebrated Father's Day with a cookout with the Wehrle's and the Streeter's. We all enjoyed cookie ice cream sandwiches for dessert.

Peyton's 1st Birthday Party

Avery got a preview for what he gets to do in a month. Peyton turned 1 year old on Saturday. Keith made him a spider-man cake and he was covered with red and black icing. Peyton and Avery played with all the new toys, with the occasional pulling of each others hair.

Playing with Cousin Mackenzie

Ave had a good time playing with cousin Mackenzie at G&G Pottmeyer's house. Mackenzie has a wild imagination and even found a place for Avery in her Dora play. The Dora play starred Dora (Mackenzie), Diego (Avery), Elephant (Papa), two crocodiles (Derrick & Stacey), and Grandma moderated making sure Diego didn't get lost in the play.

Grandma Brought Raspberries

Grandma Allen came down to babysit and she brought some fresh raspberries from the garden. Yummy!

Playing Around

On Sunday, we headed down to the playground at St. Agnes. Avery had a good time going down the slide with mommy and daddy. Mommy also treated Avery and Daddy to some yummy ice cream bars from the gas station. Mark one up for mommy!

Kitchen Nightmares

We are in the middle of remodeling our kitchen from head to toe: painting our cabinets, new flooring, re-painting the walls, new countertop, new lighting, some new appliances, etc. The process is long, but Derrick is doing a terrific job and Stacey and Avery help out when they can. Today, Derrick and Alex installed the new stove. Here is a before and after. Huge improvement.

Petting Zoo

Avery, Ethan, Jennifer, and I went to an interesting petting zoo Friday. There were goats, a llama, chickens, a donkey, guinea pigs, and some sort of kangaroo animal. Ethan had a good time petting them, but Avery was a little too small to be down amongst the chaos.

Swim Class

This week Avery started swim class with mommy. It is very fun and he might already have a crush on a little girl that splashes at him. He is learning some cool tricks like swimming on his back and stomach, jumping in the pool (mommy helping me of course), and swimming after his favorite bath toy, the dolphin. This picture was taken after swim class. He is also wearing a new outfit from Grandma and Grandpa Pottmeyer who came to Charleston today to babysit along with cousin Mackenzie.

Happy 2nd Birthday Ethan!

Avery had a good time helping Ethan celebrate his 2nd birthday filled with choo-choo trains. Avery got to ride around in Ethan's car and play with all his new toys. Fun party!

Good Week

This week Grandma Allen came down for a day to spend some time with Avery while mommy ran some errands. They played with Avery's new walker and he is getting pretty good at walking through the living room behind it.

"Mama" is old news. Avery has moved on to saying "Dada."
