Summer Storm of 2012
On Friday, June 29th, we got a huge storm that spanned across several states including West Virginia and Ohio. There were tons of trees down, houses damaged, and power outages. We were fortunate to not have any damage to our house, but it did knock our power out. We were also fortunate to get our power back on Sunday evening. Some were not so lucky. In fact, as I write 10 days later, there are some in Charleston that still do not have power. Should also mention that almost every day this past week the temperatures reached high nineties and above 100. The storms have continued here over the past week. Yesterday we were caught in another bad storm. The above pic was the morning after the storm. We headed out to see if we could get some coffee. Little did we know that there were no gas stations or grocery stores open. And, the gas stations that were open had huge lines waiting for gas. Crazy times!
Best Buds
These boys actually do love each other a lot eventhough they fight like cats and dogs sometimes. Devin imitates everything that Avery does and wants to be right in the middle of whatever he is doing. Of course, that means problems for Avery. So glad they are starting to be good buddies.
Catching Up with Devin
Devin has always been known as our sweet little angel. Ha. Yeah, that has all changed in the last week. Maybe the terrible twos early? He has started a new fake laugh. He throws full body fits. He hits. He bites. He stomps. He runs from his mommy. Yes, this is the Devin that his grandparents do not see. He is crazy! But, he has me in tears laughing most days.
Trying on a hat at the bookstore.
He loves swinging.
Man can this kid eat? He eats his full portion of lunch and then usually finishes his brother's leftovers too. Three hot dogs? Done. Two pancakes? He's got that. I don't know where he puts it. He is a bottomless pit. And will eat anything and everything.
Devin also had a nasty case of pink eye. Poor fella.
Catching Up with Avery
We are quickly approaching a four-year old Avery, no longer our three-year old Avery. The older he gets the more his personality becomes evident. He is enjoying his summer days swimming in the pool, playing outside, and wresting his brother.
He has only fallen asleep on the couch a handful of times, so this is very rare to see.
Imitating his dad with his bluetooth.
My little pool boy. This kid really is a ton of help to us these days. He is at the point where he can do chores and does them well.
Goof.
Cool day at the playground.
Some of his personality shining through here.
Helping make kebabs for dinner. He did a great job.
Nitro Baseball Game
We went to the WV High School Boys State Championship Baseball Game. Nitro was playing, but they ended up losing.
